Hi, my name is Maggi. I have completed training through the Lakshmi Ayurveda Academy, a recognized Platinum Training provider by the International Institute of Complementary Therapists (IICT).

 

I have received certification in Abhyanga Massage, completed the Ayurvedic Fundamental Principles course (30 hours), Marma Point Therapy training, and an Introduction to Nadi Pariksha (Ayurveda Pulse Analysis).

 

I am also a Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki Master.

​

These complementary therapies build on my lifetime career in the health sector as a Nurse and Midwife.

Postpartum Abhyanga

​Birthing creates a vata imbalance characterized by air and space elements. The energy used during birth, loss of blood and fluids, empty space in the abdomen and fatigue all contribute to the imbalance.

​

Ayurveda offers ways to restore and maintain balance during this time of huge hormonal, physical and emotional change.

​

These include having a daily routine that promotes self-care, taking nourishing meals and making time for rest and relaxation.

​

Abhyanga use in the early weeks of this exciting and challenging journey of motherhood is an act of self-care that helps alleviate physical discomforts, calm anxiety and promote rest in the newborn mum. 

​

Abhyanga can be in the form of daily self-massage using warm oil or provided as a full body massage from a certified therapist.

​

Magnolia Balance offers: 

  • Home visit planning meeting, before birth

  • Daily self-massage laminated instruction sheet +/- demonstration + small bottle of oil 

  • Massage in first week at home or as arranged

  • Massage package (3) weekly at home or as arranged​​​
